I've been featured!

My "Angel Wings" onesie has been listed in nobakecakes treasury on Etsy.  This treasury, entitled Angels We Have Heard On High, can be viewed here and my onesie can be viewed directly here.  I'm so excited!

Sensory Blanket

Over my past weekend (I say my weekend because my weekends are not the normal weekend days) I decided to make Squeaky a sensory blanket.  This girl is obsessed with tags! She loves to play with them, hold them, rub them, and chew on them. At least she isn't to the stage that Peanut is where every tag on every piece of clothing of his must be promptly removed after purchasing, including all care and size tags.  Well after I made hers I thought it might be a good idea to make some cute ones to add some variety to my Etsy site.  So I picked up some super cute fleece and fuzzy/minky material and some adorable ribbons and went to work.  The final result turned out adorable, I think, so now I'll probably have to make some more =)

The pictures below are horrible, I know, but right now they are the only pictures I have.  I'll have to get the man to take some good ones so that I can get them listed soon!

This is Squeaky's

This is the back of Squeaky's

Color on this is horrible, it is actually fuchsia, black, and white - flower material is fleece and black material is the fuzzy/minky stuff

A Stocking for Squeaky!

So since it's Squeaky's first Christmas I decided to make her a stocking. Not having the desire to drive to the fabric store yesterday and having in my possession some lovely fat quarters that I picked up at Fabric Expressions, I decided that her stocking was going to bright and girly.  After some quick sketches here's what we ended up with:

I'm thinking about trimming the top part with either a lime green or purple fur if I can find one, or maybe just fleece if I cannot find fur I like.  And, after I finished of course, Peanut decided he wanted one too, so that will be my next project =)

Cyber monday!!!

So, my friends out there in the bloggosphere, what are you all shopping for tomorrow on cyber Monday????

The Man and I got most of our shopping done on black Friday (yes we were at Wally world at midnight, and it was a sight to see). We picked up some pj's for Peanut and our nephews, a couple of other stocking stuffers for Peanut, and a Crayola Crayon Maker for me (because I'm still a kid at heart and I really like crayons; coloring is great, cheap therapy).  We even took Squeaky with us for her very first black Friday experience.  She spent most of the time sleeping while the Man guarded her in the cart and I shopped, but at least she was there =)

But even after all the shopping I got done there are still a few things I am waiting until tomorrow to pick up.  One of those is a fabulous Baltic amber necklace from Inspired by Finn.   These necklaces have great reviews in helping to ease teething and arthritis pain and I have a little one who is trying to cut 4 teeth all at once! Tomorrow, for cyber Monday, they will be offering 20% off of everything in their store and an additional 10% off to anyone who goes to their facebook page here and suggests it to friends.  Also, if they can get 15,000 fans by Monday they will increase that 20% to 30%! So you could get a grand total of 40% of your entire order!!!

I am also looking at picking up a few things from the sale at Gussy sews.  I just ran across her site today and the stuff she makes is adorable! For cyber Monday she'll be offering a 30% discount by using the code listed on her site so get over there and check out her adorable bags and stockings! Here's some pics of her super cute bags and stockings:

I am in LOVE!!!

My friend Eric is living in Japan for a few years and I thought it would be cool if I could send him to find me some craft stuff from there.  In my mind I was picturing something exciting and unique that I would not be able to find or be able to order in the states (like cool tapes or ribbons or fabric).  So I got on facebook and I sent him a message...Hey Eric, since you are in Japan, can you trying finding me washi tape... just to give him a specific thing to look for because after all he is a guy and I'm asking him to look for crafting supplies.  I even sent him a link to the Etsy site for Pretty Tape so he would know what he was looking for.  I was a little excited that he might find me something really cool, so you can imagine my disappointment yesterday when I got a message back from him stating he didn't even know the symbol for craft store or where to begin looking.

I decided that if I want to have him go to the craft store for me, then I better find one so I can tell him how to get there. I got online today and began searching Google for something, anything about craft stores in Japan and I ran across a great blog called Okinawa hai! which has a craft section.  After looking through the blog a bit I thought it might be a good idea to see if I could find any cool fabric so I could give him an idea of what kind of stuff I was looking for.  And while searching for Japanese fabric I fell in love.  I found surfing ninjas!

This beautiful number can be found at Quilt Taffy's Etsy shop here. I think this is the most amazingly awesome fabric I have ever found. I want to get some and making something amazing for Peanut out of it, although I don't know what I could make him that he'd wear besides pajamas. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tweet, tweet

This little birdie has troubled me for some time. I kept seeing it's image in my head, but couldn't get it right on paper.  Today I decided to try to extract the little bird again... and it worked! I really think my new drawing medium is those really big Sharpie markers.  For some reason I just love to draw with them and I seem to be better able to get my brain images onto paper. Too bad they can't make them in those love scents that the markers I had as a little kid came in...  the blueberry one was always my favorite! So, now that's the bird's out of my head, I think I am going to put him on a shirt tonight.

Lions and Tigers and Bears - Oh My!!!

So I haven't had much time to work on anything for my shop because I have been adopted as the set/decoration designer for the Halloween party (Hallapalooza) at our church.  All of my free time has been taken up by lions and tigers and bears, oh my! But now that I am past the planning stage and I just have to paint I think I should have some time to do my own work this week.  Here are some of the drawings we are using (it's a circus theme):

Hobo Clown

It's a monkey riding a horse!

Tiger on a ball
Also, if you are in the South Denver area and are interested in joining us on Halloween the party will be at Jubilee Fellowship Church Highlands Ranch campus - 8200 Southpark Circle - October 31st - I think it starts at 6pm =)

Oh Madame Medusa

Yesterday I was struck with inspiration at work of all places. I saw this vision of a masked woman with crazy hair sticking out all over. I picked up a pen and piece of paper and started drawing. My coworkers thought I was nuts. But that's ok because for the first time ever I actually got the image in my head out on paper just the way it was supposed to look. And so, my dear readers, I present to you Madame Medusa.

Craft Fair

Saturday I was asked to show my shirts at a local craft fair. It's  super small fair at a local community, but it's a way to get my name out.  I was very hesitant about agreeing to this and am still wondering if this is something I should be doing.  I need to figure out what kind of inventory I need since right now all my shirts are made to order. Hopefully I can figure this out soon.

Until then here's the shirt that started the craze:

I finally listed on Etsy

So I finally listed my first item for sale on Etsy. It's a onesie that I designed and painted. Now I wait until it sells. I know Etsy charges me practically nothing to list an item, but I just can't justify listing a bunch of stuff on there.  Maybe next week I'll change my mind  - who knows!

You can access my Etsy shop here: Diva Chic's Etsy Shop

Here are some shots of The Princess modeling for me:
